I've been walking into Marple instead of driving or catching the bus for a few months and I always stop to talk to Charlie. Charlie is an old man and for a long time has spent his days sleeping on the tarmac pavement. His people had put a notice up on his nearest tree explaining that Charlie isn't dead or injured but just likes sleeping on "his" bit of pavement.
Sadly, he wasn't there when I passed yesterday afternoon and I was sorry to see a new message, from Charlie's people, on the tree, saying that he has disappeared.
Poor old Charlie. If you know anything I'm sure Charlie's family would be glad to hear what has happened to him, good or bad.
