Certainly were closed last week.  Sign in the window says they have "relocated" to Hazel Grove.

Probably a sign of the state of the housing market.  And let's face it, there are a lot of estate agents in Marple.

Wasn't there a rumour that the Nat West building was going to be an estate agent? (Edward Mellor moving - from this thread www.marple-uk.com/smf/index.php?topic=7164.msg45572#msg45572 (http://www.marple-uk.com/smf/index.php?topic=7164.msg45572#msg45572). Wonder if that rumour is still correct (if it ever was)....

Well I did digging on that at the time and planning permission was submitted for that building for someone connected with Edward Mellor.  It was very easy to join the dots using publicly available information that they were involved with doing "something" with that building.

What they intended to do was another matter entirely.

Planning permission was granted by the way.

Nat west how long does planning last before you have to re submitt

In this case the decision notice says three years - so it would expire December 2020.

Remember they can convert to flats without getting planning approval, so they may be thinking of some flats over new estate agents.    Or just selling/letting the building once the work is done.   (Many of their directors have their own property they rent out.)
