Title: Becky Senior: Liberal Democrat candidate for Marple North 2019
Post by: BeckySenior on February 26, 2019, 02:43:54 PM
Hello
Thank you to Mark for creating the space for us to introduce ourselves! I am Becky Senior and I am the LibDem candidate for Marple North in 2019.   I live in Marple Bridge with my husband and two sons. We moved here about five years ago and I was immediately struck by how active the community is in Marple, Mellor, Marple Bridge, Compstall and Mill Brow.  I am involved  with local community groups  currently part of the Friends of Mill Brow group and also the Mellor, Marple Bridge, Mill Brow and Compstall Area Plan looking at ensuring we have a voice in the decisions taken for our area in planning, infrastructure and green spaces for the decades to come.  I came to local politics through working with these groups and through working with the local Lib Dem team -  Malcolm Allan and Steve Gribbon - who work tirelessly all year round on the issues that matter to local residents and I wanted to be part of it.

I am pragmatic and focused on getting things done for the community we live in - whether that is working with Malcolm on the new plans for Marple Pool; working with Steve on trying to get better transport links and improve the current conditions for pedestrians road users and cyclists or looking at ways of improving access to, and use of the resources available to the wider community.

Please let me or the local team know if there are any issues or concerns that we can help you with - you can find us on Facebook - Keeping in Touch with Marple and High Lane, or by calling the Lib Dem local office 0161 406 7070.  You can also post on this forum or contact me by email rebeccasenior18@gmail.com.

Good morning

Both Malcolm Allan and I are very supportive of Becky as a candidate, we all want the best representation where we live and we feel Becky is the ideal person for this role in the forthcoming election.

We are holding a midweek surgery on March 26th between 10am and midday at Cloudberry cafe to assist those who cannot attend weekend surgeries. Becky and I will be happy to meet anyone who stops by.

Kind regards

Steve

Good afternoon readers

Speaking on behalf of Becky and I, we are holding a ‘street surgery’ to meet people and listen to their views. I did this last year and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We will be holding the surgery at Town Street, Marple Bridge on Saturday April 20th. It will be between 10am and 1pm, along the wall by the river. Traditionally these surgeries have been in Marple Centre but we felt it would be good to try a new location.

At present I am putting together a railways petition that is to be passed to TFGM officers asking for a variety of issues to be looked into ranging from platform and waiting room improvements through to a Stockport rail link (of which discussions are in motion at the moment but I always think public support adds weight to an argument). I will bring a paper version of the petition to the surgery for anyone who wishes to read and/or sign it.

Speaking in support of Becky, both Malcolm Allan and I have been very impressed by Becky’s knowledge of the Marple North, her commitment to helping us improve our area and the way she speaks to people. We believe She will if elected be a great asset to our community.

Thanks for reading this, hopefully we will see many of you on the 20th.

Kind regards

Steve Gribbon.
