I have recently attended a TfGM (Transport for Greater Manchester) meeting where the popular ‘Ring and Ride’ service was discussed.
I learnt that a journey up to 6 miles is possible with the service but only in the Greater Manchester boundary. I spoke with TfGM representatives and asked if this could be extended for users going a similar distance into neighbouring counties, this could help service users users travelling into New Mills, Poynton etc.
The representatives agreed this was worth looking into and have asked me for examples. If you use or know anyone who uses the service and could benefit from going into Cheshire and/or Derbyshire can you please let me know on the email address at the base of this message, just title it TFGM.
I am hoping this will give a bit more freedom for residents who use the service but are limited in their travels.
