Title: The Government's Cycling and Walking Strategy
Post by: CTCREP on March 15, 2018, 03:47:20 PM
The Government is calling for comments on its Cycling and Waking Strategy see  https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/CWIS-SAFETY/ (https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/CWIS-SAFETY/)

Like all Government and Local Government strategies it has been long in the making and this one is 38 pages long.  This is a very important subject, but few, if any, are likely to read through all the verbosity.  So presumably the Government will go ahead with their plans without any real knowledge of the problems for cyclists and pedestrians today.  However, if you have the tenacity and patience to read the document and answer the survey please do so. Someone has to.

Stockport's Cycle User Group will be discussing Stockport's policy on this on Thursday 29th at 6pm at the Town Hall. Items such as A6 cycle lanes, and Stockport's Cycling and Walking Infrastructure will also be discussed.

It is open to all, so if you have an interest just turn up on the day or contact the office cycling@stockport.gov.uk \ for more information.
