After a second very well attended open day at the Lime Kilns there appears to be a lot of rubbish that has been left. This is not the 1st time this has happened after one of these events and I thought I saw on a flyer that they would be returned to their previous state (which wasn't brilliant but it was a lot better than it is now).
I have enclosed photographs, anyone any idea who is responsible as the Council say it is not them!

The Lime Kilns Open Days were part of the Oldknow Legacy Project, a joint project between Mellor Archaeological Trust and the Canal & River Trust.

There was a guy there today with a trailer clearing some of the rubble

Thanks for info on contact details, I sent them an email but unfortunately they haven't replied. Also some of the stones (but not all) have been removed and an attempt to fill in some of the tyre tracks. As usual only half a job has been done (see attached photos). They also appear not to have put down any grass seed, so all that will seed in the bare patches will be weeds. The path is now covered in soil, so once it rains you will need willies to walk up it. I just only hope they are shamed enough to re-instate the area and to have the courtesy to reply to my email. I won't hold my breath!

The path is opposite the junction of Arkwright Road & Strines Road.
