Just to get the date in your diaries for Marple Food and Drink Day 2016.

There's now a great poster available promoting Marple Food and Drink Day on Saturday 17 Spetember:

I received the same leaflet through my letterbox yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I turned it over and saw it was publicising the 'Marple Real Ale Trail': a concept that is surely long overdue. We are lucky to have a burgeoning real ale market here, and I for one will be donning my Real Ale Drinking TrousersTM and setting forth.

Will there be a real ale bus operating between the spring gardens and marple centre, as has run previously?

A great selection of Arthur's photos from Saturday's Food and Drink Festival have now been uploaded to the Virtual History Tour:

Mark
I am planning the forthcoming seasons for the Carver Theatre and want to try to avoid our Saturday matinee clashing with the food festival as the car park becomes impossibly full for our often elderly patrons to get around.
Is the food festival always on the third Saturday of September or is it a roving date? If it is always on the third Saturday I can adjust our schedule to avoid the clash. However I noticed that in 2013 and 2014 it was on the 2nd Saturday and for 2015 and 2016 it was on the 3rd Saturday. It is possible to agree a fixed date, i.e. 3rd Saturday, for all future food festivals ?

Apologies @mikes, I was just looking for something else and noticed that I didn't reply to your query, sorry!
The Food Festival is organised by Marple Business Forum and you would need to speak to them about future dates and / or fixing the date in the calendar (which I agree would be useful for those wishing to plan ahead).

Thanks Mark
Do you have a contact at Marple Business Forum ?
All I have is an email address, not even sure if it is the right one, and they haven't replied.

The chairman@marpletraders.co.uk email should reach chair Ian Smith but if you're not getting a response his direct contact details are here:

Roger Nowell is one of the key contacts for Food and Drink, he organises the stalls. His contact page is here:
