Title: WHERE'S THE YOUTH CLUBS?
Post by: on November 30, 2004, 01:00:54 PM
I've lived in Marple all my life and all i can remember there being available was a Dancing club one day a week. It was closed down as there was lack of people interested.

Today, there is nothing in Marple to encourage these youngsters to make more of their social lives.

Where's the youth clubs?? Theres enough salons! ???

Derelict Hanburys? Open this up as a student union maybe....have police patrolling at night when its open.

SIMPLE ideas like this should be put forward.

Hanburys as a youth club is a fantastic idea, but financially I don't think whoever owns the place will entertain the idea of using the building in this helpful, socially benificial manner.  Where's the profit for them you see?
And what activities could a youth club offer compared with getting baked and causing mischief / crime knowing that there will be no punishment?
Perhaps vigilante groups are the way forward, but more police please, that's all we need.  As a taxpayer that seems too much to ask though.  I fear it will take an unfortunate incident until we are rid of this pests.
