Title: Yet another cafe
Post by: My login is Henrietta on January 09, 2014, 01:32:44 AM
Having business near the Post Office this afternoon (and being rather nosey) I wandered across to have a gander at the shop next to the Bookshop, formerly "The Attic". As I was looking, the proprietress came out to talk to me. She told me she was going to open a "craft café" with hand-made novelties such as jewellery and knitted items for sale and a knitting circle. Hmm. It remains to be seen how it goes. Given the over-sufficiency of cafes in the centre with some very good competition, to say nothing of a knitting group at "Sew In" and another proposed at the library, I'm inclined to have my doubts of the wisdom of this enterprise.

There used to be something similar lower down Stockport Road where the 'Kitchen Shop' used to be, that didn't last to long.
