Anyone know what caused the huge plume of smoke?

Yes, it's a fire over in Bredbury.  The recycling plant.

You can see it from up in Hawk Green, must be huge.

Why they were allowed to open one there  . The biomass plant were stockport mbc  waste goes never any problems with that .

Twitter and MEN were the first to report/spread word. The beeb took at least one whole hour to catch on!

Smoke's still pluming from the area.
