Web users can help Friends of Marple Memorial Park to win a grant of £1,000 from Stockport Homes toward The Skate Park Refurbishment Project.
Go here to learn more about the project: http://www.marplememorialpark.org.uk/projects/skate-park-improvements.html
Or visit the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/marpleskatepark
To vote for us to get the money, go to the Stockport Homes web site using this link:
http://www.stockporthomes.org/main.cfm?type=COMMUNITYCOUNT&objectid=3352
Read as much as you want to about the scheme and the projects (we are part of Area East).
And then click the link to vote on the East Community Fund applications:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/H5D7DR5
Scroll done to item 8, Marple Memorial Park, check the box for 100% and then scroll to the bottom and hit the "Done" button.
You can vote for the other projects too if you want - it isn't a competition for funds as such, so no reason not to vote for everyone else to get their money too!

At present it's not clear if we've been awarded the full amount of £1,000 in the application, so fingers crossed that the voting went well for us.
Thank you everyone who did take the time to vote on-line - this has been very successful for Friends of the Park in previous years and hopefully we will have more good news soon.

I'm very pleased to announce that the Skate Park Project has been awarded the full £1,000 Stockport Homes Community Fund Grant that we applied for at the end of April. The award of this money was dependent on public voting and we are very grateful for all the support we received from people who voted on-line and also at the Spring Event at Brinnington on Tuesday 14 May 2013.
