it has been reported in the stockport express that the council have to have a plan of where travellers can go.......theres lots of places mentioned as possibilites but in marple the sites they are thinking of are....
sorting office and carparks...chapel fields
marple and cheadle site hibbert lane
british waterways ...church street
peacefield primary school
the dale primary school
these are only possible sites the rest of the report can be read at the stockport express page on line or i would think the paper!!!!!!!

The thought of travellers pitching up in Marple sends a shiver down my spine. A couple of years ago they came to Rose Hill train station. It was not a pleasant experience.

I think this is all rather presumtious and there's a danger of stereotyping. When travellers came to the area I used to live, they did my drive for a very reasonable price and I got a good deal on some pegs.

If they come, will Stockport provide a community Loo? cos that would be good for us, if all the other public one's are closed down

i would prefer a supermarket without a second thought isn't it funny how the alternative for a supermarket is travellers is this a choice of what is the worse of two ideas

The Fairway was a travelling Gipsy site, travellers used to go there every year

if the money from the sale of h/l is going to be used for buxton lane campus there isn't much chance of them selling it to travellers
