If you mean the fish man who sells from the back of his van, at the side of the Bulls Head - Why would he want to use an empty shop- he does not pay any business rates at the moment!!

Well it's got a windscreen, a roof, four wheels and no windows down the side.  So it's a van!   ::)

Good luck to the boy, me thinks he might come unstuck as he may need permission fom the council. Still nice to have fresh fish available

He may need permission but as I'm sure you would agree, it may be difficult for the council to catch the fish man unless he's a Dog Fish or a mackerel :D

Children in Need Fishy Challenge - to Wind up Marple's Premier Tree Sturgeon

With apologies to Alex, who intended this as a serious topic, I'm going to extend a CIN challenge to you hilarious people to keep this up until midnight tonight. For every unique fish (or fishy item) mentioned in an amusing way the Marple Website will donate £1 to Children in Need, up to a max of £50.

So far we are up to 22, so it's going to get harder as repeats will not be accepted. And it's no good just listing fish - you need to make us chuckle and try to follow the thread wherever it leads on this fishing trip adventure.

Have I pointed out recently that Marple is getting a crappie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crappie) deal from the college, would be nice to knock them off their perch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perch) ?  Sorry I'm no ray (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batoidea) of sunshine.

Mind you, I've been banging my drum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drum_(fish)) concerning that for quite a while now.

Title: Re: fish bar(shop)
Post by: admin on November 19, 2011, 11:35:32 AM
Very good Neil, the links to Wiki are a nice touch. Perch has been done already, so I make that £29 so far.

Barbra's Salmon chanted evening is my favourite to date but the ones in red are all worth a £1.

A new sub-rule is introduced as from now - any further mention of the college / supermarket will a result in a £1 penalty - so let's make sure CIN don't end up owing me and leave that for other threads.

I didn't want to get into this, I wanted to get out my Guitar, fish around on the net for something to play along to.

My kids were driving me mad listening to some Tuna think by Kylie Minnowgue and I needed the escape.

I could have played along to Kylie with my Stingray which for those of you who don't know is a Bass guitar.. BUT I'm more of a RockBass kind of player.. I like a bit of Sole music too.

Anyways, I Smelt something cooking downstairs, the OldWife was cooking some pasta again. I can guess she was thinking.. "I'll do some Spaghetti Eel like that.. and I do.. but not every Ruddy day! (if she read this.. I'd be sure of a Shiner!!)

The accompanying bread didn't have butterbot margarine. Which always has that Tang.

Anyways.. Get your hands in your pockets and donate to Children in Need, http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/donate/ (http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/donate/) I'm Saury for the Cobblers story! but not sorry if it makes CIN more money!

That sure was a bad one Howard, it stinks, I smelt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smelt_(fish)) it a mile off.  Brill (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brill_(fish)), it wasn't.  Will a more cunning ling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_ling)uist come along, perhaps someone who's a bit of a starfish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starfish) at this stuff, a dab (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_dab) hand.

And what's all this I heard about the prospect of a pike (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esox)y settlement being mullet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mullet_(fish))ed over by SMBC ?  Will ask around about this tomorrow while at church (as I'm a prawn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prawn)-again Christian).
