Good one Water Rat  ;D

In this instance "Pro Loco" means "in favour of the locality", and artists will draw / paint scenes in the park. It would be good to get lots of activity in the park to give them plenty of scope. I'm hoping that there will be some good ones that maybe could be used to publicise the park in the future.

I'm not sure if this is to be a competition or if it is simply a painting day but I will find out and post more details.

More details now available.......
ART IN THE PARK - Marple Festival proloco

Sunday 19th September - Marple Memorial Park

Festival Painting Day sponsored by Derwent Pencils

Come and show your artistic talent, whatever your age, and enjoy a creative (and fun) day painting outdoors.

Sign in between 9-10am and return artwork by 4pm.
Entry price - per entry - £1 Adults and 50p Children.

Age groups: 0-11 years, 12-18 years and adults - 19 years plus.

Artists to bring their own canvas or paper, easel and equipment. Some painting and drawing materials will be available.

Sign in at the Art Tent located in Memorial Park then enjoy the day - go out into the locality and paint or draw something that takes your eye! Work must be unaided and produced on location and NOT at home. Return your work of art to the Art tent by 4pm the same day.

Finished artwork should be returned to be authenticated before framing and then framed for hanging. Paintings look even better when framed but no need to spend a lot of money.

GREAT FAMILY FUN!

There will be an exhibition of the artwork locally and a prize-giving (sponsored by Derwent Pencils) - details to be announced soon.

First prize paintings will be retained and displayed locally (not for sale). All other paintings can be returned on request. Other paintings may be retained for display by the Festival Committee with permission for use in publications and displays.
