Title: Filming on Market Street yesterday
Post by: admin on December 11, 2014, 03:54:31 PM
There was filming taking place on Market Street yesterday and our intrepid photographer Arthur captured some of the action.

We understand it was part of an advert for legal services or insurance - all looks pretty weird - watch out for it on your screens in the future.

Here's the advert as discussed above.

Reminded me of happy times visiting the Bon Bon sweet shop.. must be 35 years since that was last used?

Couple of clips in the Channel Four UKIP mockumentary the other day.  They used the footage of the set up of the Marple Bridge party to illustrate the new 'bank holiday' instigated by the UKIP goverment.

I remember my father telling me that the Bon Bon had some sort of a covenant on it that said how it could be run. Can't remember the details. But I can remember being sent, as a little girl, on summer Sunday afternoons to buy a "block" of ice cream for tea - usually "Neapolitan" - the striped pink, white and green one.

Does anyone else remember when the library was the shop next door to the Bon-Bon?
