OPEN DAY AT SHAW CAIRN -    Saturday, July 19, 2014
10:00am to 4:00pm

University students and local volunteers are excavating again at Shaw Cairn on Mellor Moor, the elite Bronze Age burial where an amber necklace was found. On day two a plano-convex flint knife was found in what may be a satellite cairn.

The site will be open to visitors on Saturday July 19 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Meet at Shaw Farm where there will be a display of photos. Directions will be given for the walk up to the cairn.

Shaw Farm, New Mills, High Peak, Derbyshire. SJ986873
