In her birthday Honours List earlier this week, Her Majesty graciously conferred a knighthood on our esteemed Member of Parliament.

Well he is sharing a platform with Stockports Council Leader today at a Manchester Conference. Hope he behaves.

Congratulations to Sir Andrew.
Apart from the obvious what does being a knight actually mean to the person. For example do they get paid ? Do they get first go at tickets to the Queens Garden Party? Do they pay a lower tax rate ?
What do they do apart from all jousting?
There's a House of Lords is there a House of Knights ?
I've never known a knight. I did know a Dame once ( drank like a camel ) but I've lost touch and it is not really the same is it !
Does anybody know?
