I passed The Cheshire building society today and noticed they were no longer selling properties. I popped in for a chat since I am a saver at the branch and I used The Cheshire in Marple to sell my house 3 years ago (they provided an excellent service). The above link says it all; Nationwide who own The Cheshire have decided to shut down their estate agency side of the business. There were job losses in Marple and Romiley, although the manager at Marple has set up her own business and was fortunate to take most of the current client base with her. We live in tough times. At present, the building society staff in Marple believe the branch is safe.

What has the former manager of the Cheshire called her Business?
