This road runs from All Saint's School down to the canal. Does anyone know why bollards are on this road? Is it privately owned? I've no problems with the bollards, but I noticed several branches are beginning to overhang the road and the walls are getting in need of repair too.

It is a very narrow road and I assume the bollards are there to stop it being used as a 'Rat Run' between Strines Road and Church Lane.
Thus forcing ALL traffic through the centre of Marple to be hindered by the traffic lights.

The road use to be one way, but became such a rat run that it became dangerous especially as it goes past All Saints' School. The road was closed at the school end about 12 years ago, following a number of very near misses.
