Title: Lost Reg Plate
Post by: Jay on June 23, 2010, 02:27:37 PM
Does anyone know anyone who's car registration starts LAS it's a private plate. I found it outside my garden on Saturday and try as I might I can't trace it unless I write to the DVLA and pay them to let me know. (I pay them enough on road tax, so I'm reluctant to do that!) If anyone knows who it belongs to let me know and I'll get it back to them  :)

If I found a plate outside my house I'd be suspicious. The car might have been stolen or involved in an accident. Would contacting the police be a sensible idea? (They could trace the owner).

Just as a word of caution to others, if you do loose your Reg: plate you should inform the police so they can log it and give you a crime No: in case it is used in a fill up and run at a petrol station or cloned for some other use, then you won't be blamed, this has happened with one of our company vans.
