Well, www.neighbourhoodfixit.com appears to be working so far. I reported two problems; a large pothole at the Church Lane end of Leigh Avenue and the terrible state of Union road. I did this last week and have just received the following email from Stockport Council:

Dear Mr ********. Thank you for your email, I have reported both the queries to Highways The road surface the highways officer has 10 working days to inspect the area. The reference number is ******* The pothole he haS 24 hours to inspect, The reference number for this is ******* Regards ****** Customer Services Representive Stockport Direct Contact Centre 0845 833 4444

The **** are mine (for no other reason than I want to see how this first claim works). I'll keep you updated, but it seems to be working so far.
