there was a police helicopter hovering around Compstall this morning and then I saw two police cars near the windsor castle a few hours later. anyone know what incident could have provoked such a high police presence? bit scary.

it sounds like they were a pretty organised group of thieves. there's nothing as thick as those!
crime-wise things seem to be changing quite swiftly in marple recently: muggings, car thefts, rampaging gangs, and now this sorry incident.
it's a real shame for the residents of such a beautiful little town.
hats off to the old bill though.
