A brand new book featuring a fascinating selection of more than 180 photographs traces some of the many ways in which Marple and District has changed and developed over the years.

The book, which is in colour, has been produced by Stockport Heritage Trust's Steve Cliffe and Coral Dranfield. 

We were pleased to be able to help Steve and Coral by providing many of the old photographs used in the book from our on-line Virtual Tour of Marple and it carries a great acknowledgement to our contribution and an appeal for anyone who has old photos and postcards to share to get in touch.

The book is available in local bookshops - stocks sold out recently at the Marple Locks Festival, so it looks like being a best seller!

There will be a book signing event at Marple Library on Saturday 1st August from 10am, so this will be a great opportunity to obtain a copy and congratulate Steve and Coral on their efforts too.
