Another £127.50 was raised for Riding for the Disabled last night, taking their two week total to £221.

The Higher and Lower Game jackpot of £100 was won at the third attempt by young Michael Sinclair - a popular win!

Next week's quiz is the monthly one for the Iron Bridge.

Riding for the Disabled benefitted to the tune of £93.50 from last night's quiz. The Higher and Lower Game wasn't won after three attempts so next week, at their second quiz, it will be played to a conclusion - or until all tickets have been drawn!

A quieter night last night, which still managed to raise £63 for the Iron Bridge - thank you to everyone who continues to support this cause.

The Higher and Lower game was played with slightly different rules introduced last week that now allow the player to accept £30 if they get to the end of the first line, or they can gamble and go on to try and win the £100. If £30 is taken, as it was last night, the next player plays for £70 but can accept £20 for the first line, and if that's also won the third player can accept £10 or play the second line for £50. It's complicated to explain but not so bad in practice and hopefully means that there will be more winners!

Talking of rules - because the nominated charity did not attend the quiz to collect their donation last week a vote was held by the teams attending last night on which of this year's causes should receive the £113.50 raised. The most votes were received by Otterspool Animal Sanctuary.

£113.50 was raised for Marple Carnival last night and despite new rules to make it easier to win on the Higher & Lower Game nothing was won in 3 attempts at the £100 Jackpot.

Next week's quiz is the regular monthly one for the Iron Bridge Restoration Fund.

£105 was raised for the Marple Locks Heritage Society at last night's quiz, and no luck for the players of the Higher & Lower Game.

Next week's quiz will be in aid of the Marple Carnival Charities Committee Fund.

A further £106 was raised for the All Saints' After School Club last night bringing the total over the 2 weeks to a very respectable £211.
The Higher / Lower wasn't won so we will be playing again for £100 next week.
Next weeks cause will be the Marple Locks Heritage Society for just one week to replace the quiz they gave up for the Tsunami Appeal Quiz.

Great quiz last night and what a marathon the Higher and Lower Game was before it was eventually won. 57 tickets were drawn and at least 50 pairs must have been turned over!

£138.50 was raised for the Iron Bridge Restoration, including £20 donated by the eventual winner of the £100 Jackpot.

Next week's quiz on Wednesday 30th March will be the second for All Saints' After School Club.

The second quiz for the Rose Queen's charity, Integreat, last night raised £98, taking the two week total to a fantastic £344!

The Higher and Lower Game wasn't won, so the £100 Jackpot will be played for again at next week's quiz, on 16th March, which will be for All Saints' After School Club.

A reversal of fortunes for the Mellor Rose Queen's chosen charity, "Inte'great", last night after possibly the largest turnout ever. A fantastic £146 was increased to £246 by the generous winner of the 'play 'til it's won' Higher and Lower Game, who donated the £100 Jackpot to the charity.

Same cause next week - get there early for a seat!

The weather and the football made for a much quieter quiz than usual this week, but £73 was still raised for the Iron Bridge.

The Higher and Lower Game Jackpot wasn't won, although it came close, so next week it will be played to a conclusion again for the £100 Jackpot.

Next week's quiz on 2nd March will be for "Inte'great", the chosen charity of the Mellor Rose Queen. Inte'great enables local Stockport children with disabilities to participate in sporting & leisure activities. It's a new charity based in Reddish.

Amazing consistancy with £109.30 raised this week for Marple Bridge & Mellor Scouts, taking their two week total to £218.80.

The Higher and Lower Game £100 Jackpot wasn't won, so in a week or two we could be in for a "play 'til it's won" night again.

Next week's quiz on Wednesday 23rd February is the regularly monthly one for the Iron Bridge.

Last night's quiz was for Marple Bridge & Mellor Scouts, and £109.50 was added to their coffers. Next week's quiz on Wednesday 16th February will benefit them again.

Three goes at the Higher and Lower Game failed to hit the £100 Jackpot - back to normal again after last week's rapid win.
