There will be a fun quiz at the Ring o' Bells Pub on Church Lane on Wednesday 19th June, in aid of the Iron Bridge campaign.

The quiz starts at 9.00 pm but it may pay to get there early if you want a seat!

The Ring o' Bells has kindly agreed to host a monthly quiz in aid of the Iron Bridge restoration fund. These will be held on the first Wednesday of each month - the next one being this Wednesday 4th September. The questions will be set each month by the 'Plumber's Mates' and presented in some style by our very own Peter Clarke.

The quiz starts at 9.00 pm but if you want a good seat, early arrival is recommended!

The Ringer's are also continuing their normal regular quiz for various deserving local charities every third Wednesday, which means of course that there's actually one quiz every fortnight from now on '<img'>

We raised £65 towards the Iron Bridge restoration at the Ring o' Bells quiz last month and already it's time for the next one, which is this Wednesday night, 2nd October.

As usual, the quiz itself is planned to start at 9.00 pm, however it's wise to get there early and claim a good seat. This time, instead of a raffle, there's going to be a new game called higher or lower for you to enjoy too.

For those of you who read this forum and will be going - you will gain a slight advantage if you gen-up on Marple Carnival History '<img'> All the information necessary is available on the main site.

Another £60 was raised towards the Iron Bridge Restoration Project at the quiz on Wednesday.

The next quiz is Wednesday 4th December, 9.00 pm start, again in aid of the bridge, as we got out of sequence due to the Poppy Appeal.

The Higher and Lower game wasn't won and £15 will be carried forward to next time and added to the prize money.

Another good night at the Ringer's with excellent attendance. £94 was raised towards the Iron Bridge Restoration.

The Higher and Lower game wasn't won again, so £31 in prize money will now be carried forward to the next quiz (A Christmas Special set by Santa Eddie) on 18th December, when it will be in aid of the MS Society.

Entry to the Quiz is £1 per person with all the proceeds going to the charity of the night. Prizes are a £12.50 token to spend behind the bar for the winners and a £7.50 token for the runners up, all donated by the landlord.

Tickets for the Higher and Lower game are £1 each. 50% of the money taken on the night goes to the charity and the other 50% is the prize. Upto 3 attempts are are made to win the game and if all 3 fail, the money is carried forward to the next quiz.

Next quiz at the Ring o' Bells in aid of the Iron Bridge Restoration is on Wednesday night 8th January, we know this is not the first Wednesday in the month - but didn't expect many people to be up for it last night!

9.00 pm start - The Higher and Lower game prize money was carried over again, so should be a tidy sum this time ':p'

Next Ringer's Quiz for the Iron Bridge is on Wednesday 5th February, 9.00 pm.

It should be a really exciting night as the Higher and Lower Game was carried over again. I'm not sure how much was carried over (will update when I find out) but with the takings on the 5th it should be close to £100.

The Landlord has decided that rather than let the prize get too large, the game will be played until it's won. Should make an entertaining climax to the evening!

Another excellent evening at the Ringer's, packed to the rafters. £112 raised for the Iron Bridge and a good time had by all.

The Higher & Lower Game prize of £100 was won after several close calls and the prize money carried forward to the next quiz is £39.50. This is on Wednesday 19th February and is in aid of New Horizons - get there early as seats are becoming hard to find!

Last night's quiz in aid of New Horizons was great fun, topped by yours truly winning the Higher and Lower Game! The £57.50 winnings will be blown by the Plumber's Mates at the Kineray this Sunday!

Next Ringer's Quiz for the Iron Bridge is on Wednesday 5th March, 9.00 pm.

There will also be quizzes on 12th and 19th of March in aid of other local charities.
