Well done to Rose Hill School!

Well done to Rose Hill School, who visited the timeline in Marple Memorial Park yesterday to do their "Who Was I?" cards and to leave lots of Poppy Rocks!

Poppy Rocks in Marple Memorial Park

Thank you to all the local children and schools who responded to Friends of Marple Memorial Park's appeal to create Poppy Rocks for Remembrance Day 2018. You've done us proud!

Poppy Rocks in Marple Memorial Park

Last year in November lots of local children painted "Poppy Rocks" and left them in Memorial Park. Friends of the Park collected these all up and placed them around the small memorial, where people usually leave their crosses (see photo).

This year, to commemorate 100 years since the end of WWI, it would be great if local children would do this again. Last year there were several dozen, it would be great to have many more this year. If you do one, please leave them by the small memorial to show that Marple kids are thinking of the sacrifices made 100 years ago too.
