Marple Adventure Film Festival – 17/18 November 2017

On November 17th and 18th, Marple Scouts are hosting their first ever Adventure Film Festival, in aid of their Scout Hut renovation fund!

The festival will showcase a number of short films which focus on adventure and battling the elements - including a number of short films which have won awards both nationally and internationally.

The headline film "Four mums in a boat" tells the tale of four middle-aged women who decided one New Years' Eve that they needed a new challenge in their life: they set out to row across the Atlantic, despite having zero rowing experience between them.  Their roller-coaster adventure tale is remarkable and inspiring in equal measure!

Other films include a short film about the crazy skier who races down the steepest slopes in the world, and two teenagers who have taken the climbing world by storm!

There are two evening showings at 7pm on the Friday 17th and Saturday 18th November, £6 entry, and a matinee showing at 2pm on Saturday 18th November, £4 entry.

The event is taking place at Marple Scout HQ, in the Memorial Park in Marple -  a place where so many adventures start - with all proceeds going to charity, and with a fully licensed bar including beer brewed by an ex-Marple Scout who now owns a Micro-brewery!
