High Lane Charity Christmas Craft and Gift Fair [9 December 2017]

High Lane, Stockport - On Saturday 9th December 2017:
The new charity Youth Development Africa is hosting a Charity Christmas Craft and Gift Fair to support a new and exciting capital project at Model School in The Gambia.

Model School is a small primary school in Serrakunda in The Gambia.  Currently, the school does not have a library.  The room's ceiling leaks and it is dilapidated and worn.  The few books that the school has managed to accumulate have been damaged by the condition of the building.  It is not a space that is safe or welcoming for students to nurture a love of reading and literature.

This project aims to create a fully functioning library, with at least 3 walls of shelving filled with books, for Model School.  This room will have electricity and will be secured by a locking door and windows.  The roof will be replaced and will be watertight to protect the new books.  Comfortable reading spaces will be created for children to relax and enjoy the books.

Youth Development Africa  is organising a Christmas Craft and Gift Fair to raise money for this project.  This event will be held at High Lane Village Hall (Windlehurst Rd, High Lane, Stockport SK6 8AB) on Saturday 9th December 2017, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.  There is free entrance for the public and there will be entertainment, food, raffles, crafts, gifts and more.   There will be face painting and craft activities for the children and a cafĂ© provided by the High Lane Scouts. The High Lane Charity Christmas Craft and Gift Fair will be hosting a wide range of talented vendors offering a wide range of unique Christmas gifts.
