This is a polite reminder that Town Street in Marple Bridge will closed to vehicular traffic from 11.00 hrs to 18.00 hrs on Saturday 2nd December for the Marple Bridge Association's Annual Winter Wonderland.

Traffic can still proceed to Mill Brow, Mellor and New Mills and all local businesses will be open as usual. Diversions will be in place along Bonnington Rise, Hogarth Road, Constable Drive and Hollins Lane.

Stewards will be on duty on Town Street to assist local residents and the emergency services and pedestrian access will be unaffected for the duration of the event.

Just a week to go to Marple Bridge Winter Wonderland now, so here's a reminder:

There will be 35 stalls, Santa, 3 Morris troupes, Marple Brass Band, The Pantonic All Stars, School Choirs and Rainbows. Plus food, drink mulled wine and the Christmas tree lighting.

The event starts at 1pm and culminates with Carols by the tree and the Christmas tree lights switch on by Santa at around 3.50pm.

Mellor Country House will be one of the stalls at the event and you can order Christmas Trees and Wreaths from them on the day:

This Year’s Marple Bridge Association Winter Wonderland Event will take place on Saturday 2 December from 1pm till 4pm on Town Street in Marple Bridge.

Town Street will be closed for the event which is the Winter Wonderland's 30th Anniversary .

There will be 35 stalls selling various gifts and as always the bars, pubs and restaurants will keep everyone in good cheer.

Santa will be there and ready to see the children in his Grotto within the Royal Scot so hopefully they have all been good.

St Sebastian’s Nursery will be running a Children’s craft stall and there will be the old favourites of the MBA Tombola and Mulled Wine stalls.

Entertainment will include the various School Choirs, Rainbows as well as the Pantonic All Stars and Marple Brass Band. There will also be the Stockport Morris Men, Mill Town Cloggies, and the Chapel Morris Men ready to jingle their bells.

The event will culminate in Carols by the tree and the Christmas tree lights switch on by Santa at around 3.50pm.
