Searching for Collins...Brook Bottom, Strines 30`s
« Reply #1 on: April 24, 2002, 09:16:28 PM »
In the 20`s and early 30`s my father as a boy/young man lived at Brook Bottom Farm, Brook Bottom. His father (Francis COLLINS) worked at Strines Print Works as did my father also Francis serving  his apprenticeship as an engraver.
A sister Edith died. Any idea as to where she might be buried from Brook Bottom?
The farm was sold by the ESTATE (?) and my grandmother, by then a widow had to move to New Mills.
Her maiden name was Wilson.
A nephew of my grandmother (George Fox Wilson)born in Brook Bottom, emigrated to Canada but returned to join up in the Army to serve and get killed in the 1st World War.
I live in the very north of Scotland and cannot get down to do research.
Any info at all would be appreciated. Thanks Jean
