Regarding my smoke alarm post from 12th December, please still call if you need free new ones fitting, day or night time is fine and fitting can be carried out right over Christmas.

Hello site users.

I am standing for Councillor for the Lib Dems in 2018 for Marple North. I have lived in the area for 15 years and am genuinely excited at the prospect of representing our community and helping where I can.

I've been in the Fire Service for 25 years and am always wary of this time of year with decorations and suchlike items being in houses. The Fire Service provide and fit smoke alarms free of charge, and give advice on safety in the home. Please call 0800 555 815 and they will be happy to arrange an appointment for you.

I am more than happy to chat about ways to help and improve where we live.
