No idea what all the 'ninby' and 'nimby' acronyms are, and frankly not that interested.

I've done enough research to know that the scientific community is completely unclear on whether there are associated risks with 4g radiation or not. I'm not as arrogant as some to conclude at this stage that either theory is completely without basis.

Simple logic dictates to me that it is better not to plant a large 4g radiator outside a primary school when the jury is out on safety. Im not against people having 4g data, but it's not my priority and I think is a very shallow view.

l think comparisons between a very low power mobile phone receiving the signal, and a base station emitting it cannot be drawn to be equivalent.  Some countries installing 4g base stations are imposing 150m minimum safety zones. As with any kind of radiation - and 4g is close to microwave frequency - strength diminishes with distance so logic suggests to me that it may be better to put it somewhere else than with 100m of 300 kids, just in case.

Just saying.

Actually I've had a think and it's probably easier just to wrap the kids' heads in tinfoil when they come to school in future instead of opposing the mast. Hey - you guys enjoy lightning fast 4g signal though!! Maybe they could even paint it green and white checks in keeping with Ludworth colours, really bring out the beauty of the piece.

Well I've discussed this at length previously on here, and particully with Howard and i disagree completely with opinions but having argued before I'm not going to start again.

The jury remains well and truly out in the scientific (more qualified than us lot) world.

However, addressing nimbyism,   people are often  unaware about issues relating to technology they use. I guess because it's 1. Convenient and a must have and 2.issues are not publicised. It s amazing how many people are not aware that govt guidelines still say phone should not be used by the under 14s.
Until masts appear they don't try and find out.
I do still feel it's sad that majority think masts are more dangerous than phones but impressive personally cos " I " did that. ;)

Cricket club... yeah marple tried that once... Remember clubs exist in the middle of communities and rely on their support and whether you believe it or not you should always respect your neighbours position.
Pity the neighbours dont respect our position and suport us .if we put it up for sale wow bet the NINBYS will be out then .

Ahh...NIMBYism raises it head again. Concern about radiation from masts are from the uninformed. It's nonsense.
They can install it on the cricket ground if they like nice little yearly income from doing so .we do need better signal in Marple bridge cant see a problem with this aplication
only the NIMBYS will object or coarse.

I hope anyone that objects in any way to the mast has their mobile phone crushed and is not allowed to use a mobile phone, or communicate with someone else that is using one for at least 10 years.

Does this present concerns including around possible public exposure to non-ionising radiation?! Not sure I love theidea of having my kids with a permanent 4g signal around them all day?
Thats not to mention this being a conservation area subject to strict planning guidelines, am sure this base station will be aesthetically pleasing 😨

Hi,
Having set up and run the national org representing communities opposing masts many years ago, I have a very long and succesful history in objecting to masts, including taking Stockport Council to court.  If you want advice chat to me on Friday after school :)

Ref: Proposed Base Station Installation at CTIL_208085_TEF_50846 Streetworks Lower Fold, Marple Bridge, Marple, Cheshire SK6 5ER NGR E: 396619 N: 389675

The school has recently been contacted by Clarke Telecom and advised that Telefonica has drawn up plans to build a 4G radio base station on Lower Fold just outside the school on the patch of land next to the car park entrance where the pedestrian crossing is.

Does this present concerns including around possible public exposure to non-ionising radiation?! Not sure I love theidea of having my kids with a permanent 4g signal around them all day?

If you have concerns or questions you may either contact Clarke Telecom directly, copying your concerns to the Local Authority Planning Department, or you may send them to the headteacher at Ludworth... oh and by the way they will only listen to responses received by Weds 15th Feb!
