Got to my class early tonight so spent a happy 15 minutes in Asda car park watching cars do U turns at the end of Hollins Lane because they hadn't noticed the sign. To be fair it wasn't very clear. There is some really fun machinery working on the road. What is less fun is trying to find a safe crossing place as they haven't been well marked, so if you are a pedestrian be careful because event when you do find somewhere to try and cross the road has been scalped so you need to watch your footing.

On the plus side I was amazed how quickly they were working, no hanging about with that road crew!

It is UPTO 4 weeks, I expect they have other work on at the same time so will not be working on it every night.   They also have no where nearby to park the equipment so will be having move equipment about a lot to get it out of the way.

15th January - 12th February: Stockport Road, Marple

Stockport Council will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing works on Stockport Road from Station Road to approximately Church Street. These works will be carried out by their Alliance Partner Tarmac Limited.

The work is scheduled to commence from Sunday 15th January 2017 and is anticipated to take up to 4 weeks to complete, weather permitting.

To allow safe working operations to take place it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements utilising a combination of temporary traffic signals and a ‘One Way’ system. During the ‘One Way’ operation, vehicles will be prohibited from travelling in an easterly direction (towards New Mills). A signed diversion will be in operation via; Station Road, Arkwright Road and Old Know Road.

Working arrangements have been planned to minimise disruption and are as follows:

    Sundays 4.00pm to midnight
Week nights Monday to Friday from 6.00pm until approximately midnight
