I'd just like to go on record to say thankyou to...

- Those in and around the community and on social media who have supported us since Monday

- Stockport Council who very speedily replaced the damaged equipment

Fingers x'd there's no more issues in our park or others in and around Marple over coming weeks/months

This is very sad and I know how frustrated and angry you and your fellow volunteers must feel, not just at the damage but because it is so mindless and pointless.

I've tweaked your earlier post so that the photos can be seen in the thread.

Thanks for the suggestion amazon
We looked into video cameras a few years ago when there was similar issues of vandalism
As it all died down, we didn't take it further
But one we may need to reconsider

For the many of those that use the park at Crowmell Avenue, please do keep an eye out as one of the items of children's play equipment was severely damaged yesterday evening.

The rocking horse was set on fire and has severely melted and will need to be replaced.

Police have been informed.

I very much doubt that those who did this would read this website (or in fact be able to read), but if you do, I really hope you didn't burn yourself on the melted plastic, I really don't....!
