satellite observing naked eye

In that case we did see it then, my kids thought it was fun waiting in the garden in the dark! I will look out again on the 11th.  '>

you couldnt have missed it-it starts off dim then brightens as it moves across the sky then dims again - its moving all the time. it was very bright!

I should mention that the prediction is centred around rose hill, I dont know if it will be visible further than a couple of klicks from that area, but anyway, have a go and let me know if you saw it.

it looks like a good clear night, basically look north east, and about just a little less than half way up from the horizon. At 22:49:35 the flare will occur, give your eyes a few minutes to get used to the dark. It should be quite obvious to see, its bright, but it only lasts a few seconds. if conditions are good you may still see the satellite moving after the flare as it flies on. even if its hazy like tonight (7th) or partly cloudy it can still be seen, often the reflected light illuminates the clouds for a secod or two
