The biggest problem in Marple is dog poo, it is everywhere. Fed up of dodging it on the pavements. Walked 30 yards in the dark this evening & one shoe caked in it. This is all down to the filthy disgusting dog owners that live in Marple. What is the matter with these people?

Are you really suggesting that a 40% budget cut has had no impact at all.

I am not suggesting that budget cuts may not have an impact, I am suggesting that the mess being targeted in the "clean for queen" is not caused by them.

The main reason for tidying up is to remove litter. This is not caused by council cuts, but by thoughtless people, the real answer is for people not to make the mess in the first place. The same goes for dog fouling.

Are you really suggesting that a 40% budget cut has had no impact at all.  The Tory party and it's members are just in denial about the impact of the cuts and ought to wake up to the damage they are doing to society

This was highlighted by the North Marple Tory saying openly for us all to see at Thursdays Council meeting that " people should be FORCED to volunteer just like in the old Soviet Union."

This Scrub the Streets Peasants  event really is Tory Britain at its worse. Rather than getting us all to touch our forlocks Tory politicans  should address why the streets are in a mess and restore the local authorities the 40% cut in funding they have imposed in the last 2 years so that streets can again be cleaned professionally.

Thank goodness the snow came in time.

It just seems a bit daft to me that they care about this but are taking money off disabled people claiming benefits etc. A lot of people now are more critical of the Royals and of the establishment.

I wonder if anyone would have actually turned up anyway.

I've received an email saying that tomorrow's planned community action day, 'Clean for the Queen' has been cancelled due to the poor weather.

It will be rearranged once the snow clears.

Will William be cleaning up the dog poo off Stockport road footpath? Maybe get something done after a bit of insight to the issue.

She polished all upon the wall / And ran her hands right through her hair / So if the lady took the time to call / All the houses on the street would not compare ....

Clean for the Queen is a national campaign to clean up our streets, parks and local areas.

The aim is for this to be one of the largest clean up operations in the world!

William is leading a team of residents and Councillors to clean up some areas across our constituency.

This is not a political event, so if you're free from 10:30am on Saturday 5th March please register your interest with us now and we will send you all of the details nearer the time.
