The words are from Stockport for Peace, not my own. However, I would imagine that they feel high winds could have blown the wreath into the flowerbeds but not broken it into multiple pieces as shown in the photo. Knowing what it was made of I would be inclined to agree with their assessment myself but I guess we can't be 100% certain.

Wreath Wrecked at War Memorial - WHY?

One of the wreaths placed at the War Memorial in Marple Memorial Park has been wrecked, apparently deliberately.
The wreath in question was discovered in nearby flower beds and had been broken into several pieces. It had been placed at the War Memorial at the ceremony on Remembrance Day last November by Stockport for Peace, along with numerous other wreaths. The wreath was made of both red and white poppies and contained a label explaining that while Stockport for Peace respects the memory of those who have died serving our country, the group also vows to work towards the peaceful and just resolution of future conflicts.
