Raise it through one of the local councillors. In my experience, any enquiry that comes to a council office with a councilors name on it gets faster treatment than just a member of Joe public. A little judicious nagging of your local elected representative should do the trick.

I have contacted them and they advised me to stop feeding them!

Unfortunatley, I have never fed them and they still wont go away.

Seriously though, Mike. You should contact Stockport MCB Environmental Health and they can offer some good suggestions.

Quote
The Government has ruled that it is now illegal to shoot a crow, rook or pigeon for the pot without scaring it first. The legislation says shooters must attempt to frighten off the birds before pulling the trigger.

Only when the birds fail to respond can he or she shoot it for dinner. The same rule applies to farmers who have shooting days blasting woodpigeons and rooks to protect their crops or gamebirds.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to speak to the moderator with regard to these hurtful and unwarranted remarks!
My family and I are just trying to eke out a living like the rest of you and find that these coooomments just make our lives harder & harder.
How would you like it if I threatened you with a cat?

Does anyone know how to get rid of pigeons?

They are classed sa vermin, but apparently I'm not allowed to kill them!
