I would never eat in at Maple Tree again, i found the service very annoying, over the top attentive.
So, i order take away from them instead as the food is excellent.

In our opinion (me & gf) the best Chinese food around by a country mile is China Garden in High Lane - so that's our takeaway of choice. But if you're eating in, the Maple Tree is your best bet because the service makes for a better dining experience, where at China Garden it's average at best. (still does the best food tho!!)

We usually go to hawk green for a Chinese but decided to try the maple tree on Wednesday night, not had a take away from them for a few years, it was really nice, I had a vegetarian dish and the vegetables tasted really fresh, husband and son had prawn and beef dish , said they were yummy but son prefers the beef dish made at hawk green, but my veggie dish was much nicer from marple bridge

I've not been to the Maple Tree, so can't comment. But the Tao Xi is excellent for both eat in and takeaway. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Can't fault it.

I am puzzled by the food standard rating -

On 10 Jul 2013 Tao Xi got 2 on a scale from 0 to 5 - that's "Improvement Necessary". Broken down into -
Food Hygiene and Safety - Very Good
Structural Compliance - Very Good
Confidence in Management - High

Compare with Maple Tree which on 15 Feb 2012 got 4 - "Good". Details -
Food Hygiene and Safety - Good
Structural Compliance - Good
Confidence in Management - Some

I'll stick with the Tao Xi. Anyone any idea what's going on here - it's worse than Ofsted!

We really enjoy the Maple Tree on Town Street.

As well as fab food, Sunny who runs it makes it an unforgettable experience.

Our regular is the one past the Post Office - the Tao Xi (or Ix Oat as our kids call it - cos thats what it says on the window if you're inside). Never had any complaints - good food, not to pricey, good portions and friendly service. Also good as a takeaway.

2 out of 5 in terms of Food Hygiene (Improvement Necessary)

Anybody got any reviews of the two local Chinese restaurants - the one down past the Post Office and the one in Marple Bridge?

That sounds like one for Bluezorro
