I'm please to put you out of your misery at last (what, you'd forgotten! ).

The roach pole was needed to get a hook onto the counter-weight sling on the flagpole nearest the council offices in Memorial Park. This is because the sling was jammed and couldn't be lowered. In addition, the internal halyard cover was broken so we've had to fit a new one. This is why it's taken so long, as the service from the first supplier that we went to for replacement parts was appalling and the order had to be cancelled and parts obtained from elsewhere.

Anyway, repairs were all done this morning and the flag commemorating 10 Years in the Park was moved to this flagpole so that we could raise a "Lest We Forget" flag on the one near the War Memorial just in time for 100 Years since the start of WWI tomorrow. As you can see we're ready!

Nobody's guessed yet so I will mention that there's more than one pole involved in this tale!
As I said, Limbo Dancing.

Glad to have helped out.  :) Has the pole been used yet? Was it long enough?

I'm sure it will be long enough - I'll stand on Phil's shoulders if necessary - job is waiting for delivery of some new components so haven't done it yet. I'm hoping for delivery by next week if not before.

OI! Admin, are you saying I'm a bit too old and doddery for a pole dancing club?

Actually, don't answer that.... you're probably right  >:(

RH.

I won't answer that then but will remind you about the "bit high and wobbly" aspect too.

With many thanks to Marveld, one of our regular visitors, I now have the perfect tool for the job with the donation of an ancient bamboo roach pole that hasn't seen the light of day for 25 years!

Glad to have helped out.  :) Has the pole been used yet? Was it long enough?

I had thought about throwing down the challenge to you but I think it's a bit high and wobbly and you're perhaps a bit too old and doddery now  :-\

I think you'll get lots of donations so that Amazon doesn't have to pole dance.
Cheques made out just waiting .
