If only we are allowed to used such bright colours, Black, white, navy blue and beige are pretty much the guide colours.

The council are pretty happy for the town centre to die on it's proverbial as long as it's in heritage colours

My point was really that we don't really need to spend money on the ministry of paint colours if the council is so short of money it needs to salvage the swings for scrap metal.

As Dave says, priorities.

Strange that I agree with you Dave. I had a meeting with council employees last week telling me which colour my neighbours shop front could be painted. Do we need conservation clots?
Nothing new there. I seem to remember that there was an attempt to re-vamp Market Street (pre-pedestrianisation) in the 1960s. Everyone had to paint the front of their shops and the colour was laid down in the notification.

A very sad reflection on the times we live in.  Whatever the economic problems we face, our councillors have clearly got their priorities wrong.
