Friends of Cromwell Avenue Park - Vernon Jubilee Fund

First time poster on here so hello!

So who are we, what do we do and why should you carry on reading?

We are on a mission to restore the public park on Cromwell Avenue in Marple back to its former glory & to make it a centre for our local community by...

1. Campaigning for the installation of new children’s play equipment in the park
2. Taking part in regular working parties to clean the park of litter and to tidy the surrounding woodland area
3. Having party in the park community gatherings to bring the local residents together

Our group has been successful in getting through to the final of the Vernon Jubilee Fund so if you (or anyone you know) buys the Stockport Express, then do please ask them to save / collect the tokens.  All will be gratefully received and will help secure future funding for the park. 

Details of our cause will be in Wednesday’s edition (14/08/2013), encouraging readers to vote for us.  The first set of tokens will be also be published.  The more tokens that are collected, the larger the share of funding we will receive....hence the need to spread the word and get as many people as we can supporting us.

Tokens can be handed in at any Vernon Building Society branch or you can keep hold of them and submit them to the Group before the closing date of 16th September.
