I was walking down Market Street last week and a woman on a scooter (two wheel type like a Vespa) rode down Market Street from Church Lane end to Stockport Road and then rode through the lights (on red) up Hollins Lane and into the Co-Op car park. She had an 'L' on.

Market Street and Derby Way is a Pedestrian zone i.e. no access for motorised vehicles.

From Wikipedia: "Pedestrian zones have a great variety of attitudes or rules towards human powered vehicles such as bicycles, inline skates, skateboards and kick scooters".

Does Market Street/Derby Way have any restrictions for bikes, skateboards, etc. or is it a free-for-all, provided you are sensible? Anyone know the "official" line on this matter?
