Terrapin in canal

The large terrapin at etherow is still there, I have seen it most summers for the past 8 years or so. you only see it on the sunniest of summer days, it is usually basking in the sun on one of the half submerged timber sleepers at the cafe end of the lake

The other day I spotted a large terrapin swimming in the canal between the Ring O Bells and the Goyt Mill. Anyone else seen one? I once saw one down at Etherow, but that was maybe 15 years ago.
