Routine Tree Maintenance in the Marple Area
« Reply #1 on: May 13, 2012, 05:22:00 PM »
This information has been passed on by Cllr. Andrew Bispham:

It is the Tree and Woodland Sections intention to start routine tree maintenance in the Werneth, Stepping Hill & Marple areas at the beginning of May.

This will involve every Park and Open space within the ownership of Public Realm having a full tree inspection and any works being identified and issued to the tree gang.

Works will be identified for anything from Dead, Dying or dangerous, causing actionable nuisance or may cause actionable nuisance over the next three years growing seasons or have been subject to a customer service request.

Following this inspection and issue of works the section do not intend to return to these sites for another three years as part of our rolling routine maintenance program, except in case of emergency works identified.

This information is being sent out to you all so that any known issues or hot spots can be addressed and also to allow you to have the relevant information in case any resident who may contact the councillor over the works as well as placing information on our webpage.

Where any works are proposed on our trees within a Conservation Area we will place public notices up for four weeks prior to the works commencing to discharge our obligations. Where tree works are proposed on trees currently covered by a Tree Preservation Order we will submit the application form and await the allocated time and approval.
