The designers working with the Purple Pakora have put out a press release. Here's an edited version:

Purple Pakora is coming to Marple Bridge

Following on from the other successful sites in Disley and Poynton, Purple Pakora restaurant chain has been granted planning permission to transform the former Basmati Restaurant on Brabyns Brow, Marple Bridge into its latest exciting new restaurant.

Work is due to start on the site soon and the restaurant is anticipated to be open mid July serving the same high standard authentic modern Indian cuisine which it is well known for in the area.

The Purple Pakora worked with DV8 Designs, Warrington who were the driver behind obtaining planning permission by producing a building that is both exciting and new whilst giving thought for the immediate area. The building is to have a complete facelift to include all new timber cladding and circular windows to dramatically improve the look of the existing site. The interior will reflect the modern food on offer and will of course include the infamous “bubble wall”, a bank of tanks that creates a dramatic effect.

Purple Pakora restaurants have been successfully trading in Poynton and Disley for 3 years with rave reviews. They offer traditional Indian cuisine in a relaxing but stylish environment. www.purplepakoradisley.co.uk

Attached is a proposed elevation drawing by DV8 Designs Ltd.

I hope they make a decent job of the outside of the building. It's looked like a dump for years.
