Thanks Dave :)

Im hoping Duke Fame is the troll under the bridge  ;D

We are looking for a nice quiet area to start a family with good schools but also enough on our doorstep. As for traffic I know it wont be ideal as we work in Sale and Oldham but happy if the pros outweigh the cons.

Hi Kalkan Prince. Welcome to the Marple Forum!   As you see, we have some charming and witty local residents, and I hope you will not be unduly put off by the above.     ::)

Marple Bridge is in fact a civilised place to live, and I think you will be made very welcome.  Crime rates are low.  Traffic is a problem, especially around the school run.  Restaurants?  Well there's a Chinese, and a chippy, and people seem to like eating at the Midland.  And you can get milk and papers at the Post Office.

Hi All,

Hope this is the correct area of the forum to post in....... as you can see this is our first post! We are looking to move to Marple Bridge and would welcome peoples views on the area; anything you can share with us, crime, traffic, restaurants, local amenities eg corner shop for papers / milk etc

Many Thanks
