Thanks to all of you who enjoyed a ride around Marple today on the old bus.

We had a minor technical glitch at lunchtime when the starter motor decided to dig its heels in, but eventually we were under way again!

Such is the nature of very old vehicles....

Anyhow, it was a great day, the children [and some not so young!] had a good time, the weather was great, and despite the engine packing up on Stockport Road most people got back to where they started from...eventually!!

Cheers, and see you soon....

The route will begin at Marple Hall School, along Hilltop Drive to Stockport Road, up Stockport Road to Rose Hill, calling in to the station, then up into Marple, right at the lights, left up Church Lane, then all along there up to the junction with Hawk Green Road, down to The Crown, then right back down Hibbert Lane into Marple....then left, back down to Rose Hill and Marple Hall School.

In brief - same route as the 375!

Hi everyone!

The details are still being worked out, but please spread the word that there will be a FREE VINTAGE SHUTTLE BUS roving the streets of Marple on Saturday 22 September to help as many people as possible to enjoy the Food and Drink Festival!

The route will stretch from Hilltop Drive right up to Hawk Green and the top of Church Lane, running hourly, and meeting trains arriving at Rose Hill as part of its circuit. There will be dedicated stops for the Beer Festival [the bus stop opposite Texaco] and the main town centre area [top of Market Street, on Church Lane].

So, forget the car - and save your legs! - and hop on the free classic bus on the Saturday. It will run whatever the weather.

It will stop at any normal bus stop along the route and, when not on Stockport Road, will also stop where safe to let people on or off.

Please use the free bus and support this marvellous Festival.

More details nearer the time.

All aboard!!

There may even be some free nibbles and drinks aboard, you never know!!
