Just back from the Marple Civic Society Design Awards presentation and you can find out the results here first. Each of the category threads has now been updated with details of the public vote, which included postal, email, this forum and in the library during the exhibition. Well done to the winners!

There are now some photographs from the launch of the Civic Society Design Awards on Friday in the Virtual Tour: http://visitmarple.co.uk/photos/thumbnails.php?album=lastup&cat=-36

There's also a great panoramic shot on the DesignAwards page: www.marple-uk.com/designawards

Don't miss your chance to vote all this week at Marple Library or on-line.

A quick reminder that the Civic Society's exhibition of the projects that have been short-listed for an award will be opened by Andrew Stunell MP at 7.00pm on Friday evening at Marple Library.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to vote throughout the period from 14 January to 21 January.

Marple Civic Society Design Awards

THE great Marple and District Design Awards, organised by Marple Civic Society and supported by The Review and The Marple Website, are nearing their climax. A shortlist has been selected by the judges for each category from some exceptionally good entries.

There are now a number of ways that you can vote for your favourites including the "live" polls here. Each category will allow only one vote per registered user so cast it with care!

I won't pretent to be unbiased and it would be great if Marple Memorial Park could win both categories that it has been nominated in - but cast your votes for those you think are the most deserving.

Information and pictures from the nominated projects will be on display in Marple Library from Friday 14 January 2011 - opened by local MP Andrew Stunell O.B.E. - until Friday 21 January. You will also be able to vote at the exhibition and using the form in the Winter issue of The Review.

Votes from all sources will be counted together and the results announced at a presentation evening later in the spring.

Users are welcome to post general comments and queries about the awards in this thread. If you have specific comments about individual entries in each category then please post them in the relevant poll.
