According to the history section on the show's own web site they suffered with the weather on occasions when the show was held in September too.  www.romileyyoungfarmersshow.org

The history is quite interesting and well worth a quick read to get a better understanding of the hard work that must have gone in to keep it running for so many years, despite bad weather, venue changes and loosing money.

I hope that the organisers can find the will to battle on despite the setbacks they've experienced over the past 3 years as it is a brilliant event for local people.

If you take a look at the photos on our Virtual Tour from last year you will see the fantastic shire horses that Jean reminisces about. http://visitmarple.co.uk/photos/thumbnails.php?album=62

Hi,  Maybe they should go back to having the show in September, after harvest, like they used to.  I am going back 60/65 years now,   but we never had bad weather then, Romily Show was always the highlight of the year for us,  as kids we loved seeing the cattle and sheep,  and one of the best things was the shire horses, all decked out with their mains and tails done up with ribbons and their harness gleaming with polished brasses.
Glad the show was successful on Saturday.  Jean

This must be one of the unluckiest events on the local calendar. After foot & mouth and the appalling weather of the past few shows, it's had some really bad times. It's a shame because it's a really good day out.

I understand today's show was cancelled, which is a great shame. Yet another victim of our fine British summers :(
